Option market makers and Cfd providers etc hedge their positions so they will buy shares when/if required.
More than plenty of examples of stocks being heavily shorted and yet continued on their merry way in an uptrend. I wonder if the shorts complained about longs being evil, how the longs are 'manipulating' the price?
Gotta blame someone i guess? Should blame the boogeyman its just as logical.
