I was happier when the dow was down. I think it made investors look for 'safe' stocks to put their money. I reckon there was a bit of that on Tuesday with SSM.
With dow up I can see short term SSM holders cashing in and looking else where for stocks more likely to have larger increase in the short term (now).
I form this opinion from reading the day trades thread and a couple of other spec stock treads.
Still predict 35c open with carry over interest from yesterday, but really expect some drop after initial opening as the short termers in the market take profits and chase the next shooting star.
Reckon they'll be back next week when the dow is down again and sentiment turns back towards negative.
I know today's sp is not that relevant in the bigger scheme of things, but enjoy watching the swings and roundabouts of dailly trading.
Just my observations as I sit in the long grass and watch the herds pass by.
