I hope no one listens to that advice ever. Bad investments do go down to 0 or close to it. Such loss could be mitigated by reading the signs and indication based on fundamentals. So no charts, faith, beliefs, positive thinking and whatever else. Sure you could just let your investment simmer but by the time you come back there is a chance that it could already be decomposing. An alternative would be to watch over a stock and take action before it becomes terminal. Better to come out with some capital than none at all.
