    Triple-digit blue-chip rally

    Wall Street grabs broad-based gains as investors play off a rally in commodities. Empire State factory data pass muster. Blue chips diverge following results: Merck's higher but Kraft's lower.

    It's only 11.57pm in Perth I can stay up and watch this for another few hours yet!
