Well - we've closed the gap between 0.935 and 0.940 (!), so hopefully it will stop there and hold for today.

Coopers: your comment is an interesting one, but not relevant to this thread. I have posted at length before on the 'plight' of M&D investors and it is a myth that they are worse off now than at any other time in the past, it's just that there are many more of them now (with independent computerised brokerage) and you tend to mostly hear about the ones who fail because they moan much louder than the people who succeed talk of their successes. My 93 year old mother has been trading for over 60 years, and is much happier now that she doesn't have to use broker who give her bum advice because they are trying to talk up buying a particular stock for their own benefit. There is no foolproof form of investment, and people lose money just as readily on real estate as they do on the stock-market. Your analogy with a casino is correct though, as both work on risk management and probabilities and, with a good working knowledge of probabilities, using an edge to 'beat the system'. Please read Mark Douglas's brilliant book "Trading in the Zone" for a great comparison between casinos and the stock-market, and how to win on both.
