You get a single large buyer who has a target of say in PRR case a million shares or say $250,000 spend. He or she wont show their hand by placing an order for a million but break it up into small chunks and then place these orders gradually. Sometimes they get really crafty and dump (sell) down a chunk at their entry price or below thus hoping to attract a seller(s) and hopefully more shares than they dump. They have to be careful though because there maybe someone ahead of them in the que to buy back at the price they are after.
My reckoning today is that someone did exactly that. This is where they play the day trader fears of getting caught out or for that matter the nervous amateur.
