Who knows re: this particular seller? If they wanted to buy further shares at lower prices towards the $1 mark (or below), whilst past few days has shown $1.05 seems to have support, "if" they had done as per your suggestion of smaller parcels, those smaller parcels could be much more easily eating up; other sellers waiting their turn in the sell price queue would not be 'prodded'.
Having such a large parcel creates more, short term, mayhem from which that particular person 'may' intend to benefit. Make it difficult for other potential sellers to sell at higher prices; improve probability of accumulating at lower prices (at expense of some stock at that level, which they may be ok with receiving some cash, whilst gaining more shares at reduced price).
Nobody knows.
