"Even if the 2 rare rubies return the high US $42k per ct , the total for the package would be $2.8M US or $3.75M Aust. ... Feel free to pick apart my figures."
No Lakota, yours was excellent reasoning! CJ has put a floor under it by previously saying that they would even be happy with a "giveaway" figure of $2mill ... He is expecting more, but the point being these stones are actually 'worth more than the sum of their parts.' Meaning their real "value" is for marketing & evaluation as part of the feasibility studies. The cash sale of the stones afterwards is a secondary bonus! Just imagine any other mineral exploration company sending their drill cores to the lab for assaying & met studies, then afterwards selling the cores for $2m to $4m? That is what we are effectively doing, and why MUS is so special!
So your calculations are well measured. Some of the figures thrown around like $10mill to $30mill are just ridiculous IMO, and leave us open for nothing but disappointment. The things that will weight us on the higher side are these ... "the value of ruby with higher stone sizes of more than five carats is normally negotiated between buyers and sellers for higher prices." This could well be a significantly incremental increase, and so could add to the finally tally. Also the elephant in the room is the cut stones ... how they turn out, and how much was wasted in the cutting process. Success here could add even more. Also we are breaking new ground in cutting the stones and directly selling them directly to high-end jewelers, so we dont have a pattern to follow. A lot of unknowns
My expectations are $3mill ... But I would not be surprised if we got anything around $5mill. This would be an amazing outcome, considering this is an "evaluation & marketing" parcel.
