I was in my local Woolies supermarket this week after several months absence. The price increases on a trolley of products I am well acquainted with shocked me to the core.
Even shelf so called special prices were for many basic products much higher than recent non-special prices. Outrageous prices untenable surely to the majority of Aussie households.
It gave me the impression that senior management , or the CEO as a last hoorah, may have decided to push back in an obscene manner against the enquires of alleged price gouging to the detriment of its customers.
If there is evidence of a spurious cost of living crisis it may well be in every isle.
