When the Carpenter government set up the Northern Development Taskforce the proposed area of the LNG Hub was, from memory, 1500 Hectares which is about 4000 acres.
Wally, if you are concerned about Browse being developed at JPP, I think you can relax as I reckon it is odds on to be floating LNG.
Browse is perfect for FLNG and I have no doubt Shell will push for this and will be backed by all other joint venturers other than WPL. And even then WPL will cave to get an early development. That said, they may well have missed the window of opportunity and it could all be sitting there for another 20 years.
So that would be jobs for the Dutch, jobs for Asia, gas for Asia and FLNG will be serviced out of Indonesia. Is that a good result?
