yes the 2000 Bridge March was disaffection alright.... disaffection for the lack of recognition of Aboriginal people and wanting the PM to make amends with the people to help bring first Aussies into the 21st C.

racial division was a political phenomenon as exampled by Howard's refusal or Aboriginal people wanting constitutional recognition.

the "economic division" I read as the divide between wealthy whites and impoverished blacks. but you bracket "as the cost". ...... are you referring to the cost of providing services to Aboriginal people? if not, what cost are you referring to?

funny and deeply interesting to me is the fact that all the flak seems to be aimed at Albanese on HC threads. the weird hatred of Labs is quite extraordinary.

my posts don't reflect the full range of my politics. I'm a supporter of Menzies liberalism. the Liberal Party he created and the Gov he led found the balance between leftist socialism and rightist capitalism. imo, neither side of the political divide can survive and function fully without the other as in any economic model, capitalism needs social values to provide consumption, just as socialism needs a capitalist market to provide for societies needs.

this is where I think Albanese has got the balance too.
