I have learnt to take most government supplied figures with a grain of salt as they are all manipulated to suit the governments needs. I am more interested in the fact that large US firms are sacking large numbers of their workers and have been for 3 years this tells the real story. In an economy that is so dependent on the consumer spending once a small % of consumers stop spending then more people will lose their jobs it's a vicious circle that we will soon see in Australia. The US economy is stuffed it's depression time and there is nothing the US government can do to stop it.
