Toll first half profit jumps 11%
Toll Holdings Ltd, Australia's top logistics group, reported an 11 per cent rise in its first-half net profit from continuing operations, helped by market share gains in its key businesses.
Toll said net profit for six months ended December 31 totalled $177 million, compared with $159 million a year ago.
That compared with $165.1 million profit forecast according to Reuters Estimates.
Toll shares are down about 23 per cent in 2009, compared with a near 10 per cent fall in the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index.
