I guess none of us know what the morning will bring, but several things are certain;
1. The big boys will be the ones who decide if this deal is any good or not, not those of us that are trading a few hundred thousand shares here and there.
2. I personally consider that FMG is overpriced, given the major hurdles to project completion etc, but the big boys are still paying $10 a share. My point - those with the big bucks will look at the project, scale, market cap, index weighting post deal, long term potential etc etc and will determine if they want in - they will view it differently to you and I.
3. I think there will be a sell off by traders in the morning as it is difficult to determine the value of the shares and is also hard to fully comprehend the terms of the deal. Once again, the big boys will look beyond the initial trading wins or losses and may take positions now that they know the deal has been done and another iron ore power is about to emerge.
At the end of the day......I have no idea what the morning will bring - will be interesting to see the bidding at about 9.55am as that will give us the best indication, although again, those with the power to affect prices will probably come from off screen.
Just my thoughts....I'm just hoping it doesn't tank!!
Cheers
Doyle
