I read more than a decade ago that a volcanologist thought that if Australia was to have a volcanic eruption on the mainland, then it would be Warnambool/Bachas Marsh and regions around there.
I don't remember where I read it as it's too far back but I guess there are some enthusiasts that would be up to speed on what the low down is.
