I’m unsure if it’s possible, however my partner and I were walking on our property about 50km west and inland from the coast in northern nsw about 7:15pm when we heard a couple of short and sharp unusual thunderclaps almost microseconds apart..
We only took notice of it as they were so unusual, and there were no storms in our direct vicinity.. I put it down to some weird echoes through the ranges of a thunderstorm maybe to the east of us over the coast..
I had no idea about the eruption until 10 minutes ago.. Is it possible the shockwave/soundeave travelled this far? The satellite footage of the eruption shows what looks like a shockwave extending out for some distance..
We are reading on Facebook some more people in our local township heard similar sounds around the same time..
