Normanj, if you want to add even more confusion to the railway situation, the existing guage of the railway is Cape or CAP guage which is 3'6". It is probably also built to "colonial" standards with light rail and tight curves. Obviously that photo was a stock photo showing standard guage 4'81/2" railway. One of these days we might get more info on what is actually planned for the railway. Whilst metric guage is used in Qld for heavy haul coal railways the prefered guage is standard as used in the Pilbara.
