Last night I watched a full replay of yesterday's community cabinet meeting held in Ballarat, Victoria. The questions asked by members of the public in the audience and answers given by the ministers (including the prime minister) were reasonably informative. I was reasonably impressed by the performance of the Health Minister. It surprised me how well equipped Rudd was in handling the questions from the floor.
Perhaps the shadow cabinet can do the same, have its shadow community meeting. I doubt though they will do it as it will show up too many contradictions in the coalition rank. They, especially its current leader, lacks consistency in their policy framework, and that has got to be rectified if they want the public to find them believable.
