I do believe he is in opposition.
I also do not see any logic in the point you make.
Particularly when neither he or Gillard promised a Co2 tax and indeed Gillard clearly stated the very opposite.
Abbott's direct action is a dud IMO, Gillard's tax has no mandate given she promised before an election she would not pursue it.
She has sold the people out for the purpose of gaining power and Abbott has a dud plan.
It's very clear that Gillard has wronged the people and Abbott is simply sitting on a dud policy.
We do not need a carbon tax to save the planet (it will do nothing for the said problem) and we do not need Abbott's dud direct action plan.
Why can't Gillard just get on with running the country. House prices falling, a stale market, tourism drop off and struggling retail sector are the real issues ... yet this fascination with a stupid irrelevant tax that has no mandate is nothing more than a distraction from her inability to actually do anything worth while for the nation.
Even last weekend all they could go on about was Rudd ... just shoring up her position as queen of the do nothing of worth tribe.
