While the US claims to be nearly a net exporter of "oil" they still import liquid oil and we import an awful lot. Can we afford Iraq to fall into ruin in a bloody civil war? Personally I don't care what the Sunnis do to the Shia in their own backyard but it will not be that contained if the West ignores it.
