I agree with you, i cannot connect to him. I can't understand how someone could hold such views and how people could sympathize with him. But a lot of Australians do and that's something you and i and many others will just have to live with.
I must say it will be entertaining watching Abbott trying to govern a minority party and battle the greens in the senate. It could make for some great comedy, they'll have to bring back the Chaser.
Honestly though there is not much damage Abbott can do under these conditions. But yeah that fact that he might win is hard to take, it's like getting beaten by Collingwood but on a grand scale.
Honestly though what has me worried is Sarah Palin and the Tea Party in the US, now that would be extremely dangerous and make Tony look more center right.
