I have seen on this thread that some feel the 2PP voting system is flawed and should be dispensed with. In that vain then 'coalitions' of political parties should be outlawed as well. Why should we be discussing the Liberal party leader being the PM when they have only won 40 seats? SO many NP voters do so because they don't like the Libs. With a coalition your NP vote is being 'deformed' to a vote for the other part of the coalition. Is the same as 'waxing' while playing cricket in the nets at school, it's not a fair and democratic advantage.
Perhaps the ALP should form a coalition with the Greens
