Did anybody else notice the number of times the commentators on Saturday night referred to changes in election boundary's made by the ALP whilst in power and to their advantage. Gerrymandering is undemocratic and highly manipulative in my opinion.

Tony Abbott said that 400,000 more people voted for the Liberals than voted for the ALP,and yet the ALP may yet lead the country due to preference votes from the Greens. Again undemocratic as many voting Green would not have even been aware of where the preferences would be directed. In my opinion as preferences are a "second-hand" vote, then they should perhaps more fairly count at a fifty percent discount per vote and the direction of preferences should be made clear to people in each electorate ahead of the vote.

A fairer system of democracy could be achieved by allowing all voters to directly elect the leader of the country,as well as voting for the two houses.

In regard to so many here supporting Turnbull....Would you really want our country led by a man who has had such a close working relationship with Goldman Sachs?

Goldman desperately wants the Emissions Trading Scheme and so too does Turnbull - this tax will do nothing for the environment but force people to pay more and more for everything and most of all for their energy needs. It is essentially a tax on basic living standards and particularly cruel to the poor and elderly. Where is the sense;it was the advent of modern energy sources which has enabled the western world to advance so powerfully during the last 100 years. Goldman and its' ilk will not stop at this - the food supplies are now being taken to task, and at the same time the last bastions of the family farms are being raped. It is these small farmers who have until now protected us from the vampires of the multinational corporations. Henry Kissinger said, "Control the food, and you control the people". Our futures are looking dimmer and dimmer as global government looms ever closer.

The best choice for a democratic future in this country has to be Tony Abbott, and certainly not the British based Fabian controlled ALP. Abbott has done remarkably well when one considers how his party was polling six months ago.
