John Howard made a meal of the economy under Malcolm Fraser. Any achievements during his time as PM were due to reforms implemented by Hawke-Keating, the mining boom & Peter Costello.
Howard wasted our future by embedding welfare for the wealthy in the budget, committing us to controversial wars in Iraq & Afghanistan, failing to invest in productive infrastructure, sqabbling with the states & via his dreadful 'intervention' into aboriginal communites.
Howard's legacy was a more divided & increasingly xenophobic society, an economy dependent on decaying & inadequate infrastructure, unresolved responses to our water sustainability issues & the prospect of workers without the skills needed for the next decade.
