Alan Partridge, the issue is not about whether or not government should be spending beyond its means and therefore kicking a debt can down the road; but how that money is being spent and how revenue is being raised.
Mainstream Australians were absolutely revolted by Tony Abbott's rotten budget full of broken promises because it was grossly unfair to the poor, to low income earners and to the vulnerable. In blatant contrast it actually rewarded the 'top end of town', multinational mining companies and the world's worst environmental vandals.
With the real, actually paid corporate tax rate at just 10% for most of our big businesses it's disgusting that anyone would even consider exacerbating the World's most regressive wealth transfer tax - Howard's GST!
