" a man of integrity".....you must be joking

good economic management does not negate the need for democratic process.

Responsible and representative means you tell the electorate before the election what you are going to do.....not one thing before an election and do the opposite after.

good economic management means when you complain that there is budget emergency you DONT double that years deficit in a few months.

I would have no problem with what Abbott has done if he had told the country before the election of his intentions.
That includes the gst and all the other measures I disagree with
I dont like his PPL but he was elected by the people on its introduction.

If he had gone to the elections and said people on low incomes and welfare need to pay more.
If he had gone to the elections and said the rich and big business should pay less

even though I disagree I would accept the verdict of the majority if he won the election.

then he could have justified the measures he has introduced.

He lied badly at the last election

ANY TALK ABOUT A GST AT THIS POINT IS A BREACH OF FAITH given his pledge at the last election that the GST was off the agenda....for ever.
Even bringing in up in this parliament is breaking an election promise

There should be a debate about GST but I can not see how Abbott can bring it up without getting a lot of egg on his face.
