Pisces, people are either ignorant of the facts or chose to be selective in their use of them.

The facts are that Abbott won by one vote in the leadership spill in April (?) 2009.

After the 2010 election (by virtue of Liberal Party rules I believe) the position of Leader and deputy were declared vacant.

There were only two nominations for these positions and the incumbents were elected unopposed.

By any measure the 2010 election makes the 2009 result redundant.

Why people keep bringing this up defies comprehension.

It's not quite in the "dog ate my homework" category but it is not far off.
