I don't think Tony needs too much in the way of new policies. People just want the current mess fixed, imo.
It seems public opinion wants the boats stopped without bringing in five more for every one that comes here; stop the carbon tax; stop the mining tax; stop the budget blowouts; stop pandering to Rudd with billions that this country clearly can't afford due to the budget blowouts, etc, etc, etc, etc.
This whole thing is one huge mess. It's going to be difficult for the coalition to fix it up, imo. It's always much easier to make something new than to repair something that's badly damaged.
