They have too otherwise they will lose again.

There are two competing forces - what should Australia do about climate change? and how to manage an economy, currently at record low growth with minimal wage growth.

In that sort of environment any party spruiking bold "transformation" policies that rely on increasing and introducing new taxes will be shot to pieces.
The big question for the ALP is weather it can muzzle its left faction. The twits who want open borders, higher renewable & emission reduction targets, a "voice" in parliament , and all the other wacky stuff, and instead allow the right of its party to offer sensible moderate policies primarily focusing on improving the economy, reducing cost of living & providing more money in voters pockets......

This should be their primary focus, followed by the other policies such as climate change.

The problem the ALP has, as much as scomo is dealing with right now, is that the the agenda focus has been hijacked by the woke leftie media who are shouting & demanding that Climate change be the focus.
Will be interesting to see how Albo manages this. We have already heard language from him, particular last year following his "listening tour" which is more moderate and speaking of a more by-partisan approach. The ALP know that this is potentially an albatross around its neck.
