    Why wouldn't you hold this long term?

    If you bought at 20c or 50c and it rallies to $1 or more, then "completely" fails, you lose your 20c or 50c per share, or you might say you lost $1 per share, had you got out at the high. 

    But what if, like APT, FMG, BKL, A2M, etc. YOU were the one that got in early and YOU were the one that just decided to hold it for a few years, like you would an investment property?

    Maybe then the 20c or 50c you paid turns into $5. All of a sudden, you've got a 25-bagger or 10-bagger that can change your entire portfolio return for a long, long time. Could even be life-changing (I know someone that bought APT at 25c pre-IPO and sold it at $15. Made a mate 60-times his money. 

    My point is, if you don't take the chance, you'll never know. Making 2 or 3 times your money is not going to change your life. Making 60 times or 25 times etc might just do so.
