Losses? No, took profits numerous times here since early last year. (Another stock has gone up 5x since I sold it but we need not go there.)
Whatever works for each punter. We are all individuals.
Eventually, the SP bottoms. There is no bell rung to signal the bottom. Unless it goes completely broke. Some do.
For me, half the enjoyment is in learning more about investing. Sometimes that comes from study. Sometimes from mistakes. Sometimes I have to make the same mistake a few times to admit to myself that the experts know something.
