by the way the 40% i referred to does not take into account the many times nothing comes of the rumour (it was either false or the acquirer walked away)- that probably is 50% in itself!

i know there are plenty more mid tier asx listed oil producers, but many have mainly overseas production, or offshore - thinking mad , mpo, and lots of u.s.a.and canada, ones and locally roc and awe

with respect to the smaller stocks I thought the rumour was circulating about a major making the acquisiton!

auto i think what you said about dls and bg is pretty relevant, but i remember thinking no-one else but arrow would get pure energy! they had similar tie ups ( shareholding and joint verntures )and i think shell had a significant shareholding as well- bg got them!!
