sorry - forgot yesterday morning and this morning - got it this afternoon
this is eleclerc Verdun --
pretty ordinary cheese section compared to what some have - but, it's got a few good names --
I thought I saw an Epoisses that I liked there a few days back - but, I couldn't find it today - they have a couple though.
don't know what the one in plastic is like - it's a newie on me - cheaper - might be ok
I haven't had a really nice bread since I left Auxerre - but, that's because I had time to sus out several places in town - there's going to be lots - I just didn't find them.
eleclerc's bread range here is sort of normal supermarket stuff - but, it's full size tradition is pretty good - I'd put it at about 8/10 - the smaller traditional is about 7/10 (the smaller one is in the pic - the bigger one is 1 Euro - the rest that I tried - I wouldn't get excited about. The have some fantastic salads though - best I've had for the price.
It's shut tomorrow - so, that's a bummer - particularly with no fridge.
I found with supermarket bread - occasionally you get a really nice loaf or baguette - but, mostly - they aren't up to scratch like the specialist boulangeries
if you do find one in a supermarket - great --
I'm happy with the full traditional from here - I only found that this afternoon - it's quite different from the smaller one --------- don't know why
