there's a heap of different breads -- I like the baguette in this patisserie that - most call traditional - but, I don't think it is - it's just this place specialises in it's own - and, I love that loaf in the pic.
I sat in a discussion with some german friends who were raving about german bread - and french butter - they liked the same butter I do
but, I had to stay zipped about the bread - my preference is for froggie breads ----------- german beers --------- french cheese - wines - mix - both german and french
fruit was interesting - I was buying geman cherries which were wonderful only a couple of weeks back at around 1 euro a kilo - now - similar looking cherries here in France 10 euro a kilo ---------- bugger
peaches -------- hands down -- peach plate -- whatever they call them - the ones that look like they've been run over by a truck and flattened - they are gorgeous and, so easy to get your mouth around
sausage?? ---------- hmmmm - both germany and france - france doesn't seem to have as many - but, a few of the froggie ones are really nice.
pastry - maybe I didn't see enough in Germany - but, boy - France can get you fat in a blissful hurry - I have to control myself atm -because my fitness has gone off after 6 weeks in a van and not riding - I feel like a pig about to head off for slaughter ------------- wtf the fat comes from so fast, I do not know.
