up river from me - through one lock - so - that's heading south from Auxerre only just out of the town on the right hand side (that would be the left bank) - there's a club - there's a heap of young people who train out of there in kayaks
and some sort of craft that they kneel on
you see em out in all temperatures and weather - often 10 or more and a lot of time I see smaller teams of maybe 2 to 4 -- some very young - there's one trainer I see mostly - but, there's at least two.
there's quite a lot of fit looking people around me. It's quite a sporty place. Auxerre has a big thing with football and they have had some serious champion stuff.
I always have a giggle when I see the dumb jokes about young people always being inside and playing on iphones etc. --------- I think - hmmmm- you ought to see what I see most days - it's just not so.
