Let's face it, with the internet most business travel should already be obsolete. And a family holiday will be cheaper by car. Cairns - Brisbane is half the price and a tenth the time by air, there is a lot of catching up to do for a brand new system.

No ... There would be 3-4 new regional centres of 300,000-400,000 between just Melbourne and Sydney ... The project is able to be funded on value capture alone.

I am sure clever scheduling will allow for non stop and inter stop services.
