I realise this is waaaaay late, as your pain was last November. Also, you seemed to have covered every base.
I have an old filling that decided to give some very mild grief. I came across this site. Seems thorough. I went for the clove oil. Not Oral Eze from the chemist, the 100% essential oil from the health food shop. Works a treat. I will seek dental intervention as toothaches tend to eventually come back with a vengeance. I'm not sure if the oil kills the nerve, as some have stated. I hope so, a cheap root canal!

Also, I like that in the US you can buy tempoary filling kits. An epoxy that covers the hole and hardens. Not sure if similar is available in Australia.
