There is not just one answer. Generally, things move more slowly in Germany. There is more long-term investment and less day-trading, due to higher taxes. Frequent trading is costly. In the case of VR8, it also has to do with low trading volumes. Plus, there is a wide range of SP between the various German stock exchanges. The full range for VR8 is currently between 5.0 and 7.9c. But it's difficult to take advantage, because for sales brokers will give you the lowest listed price and for buys the highest. However, with the occasional delay, German SP will always follow the Australian SP. The ASX remains the lead index for Australian shares. Sorry, if this doesn't sound convincing, I'm far from understanding the more complex workings of the German stock market. Since I'm only interested in long-term investment, it doesn't matter much to me. Maybe somebody else has a better answer. Greetings from the other side of the planet.
