Thanks for the effort Wary. All very interesting. I agree that the manipulation is there plain as day. It succeeds so well because of the ferocious uncertainty concerning the global economy and the fact that LCE prices have been dropping for such a long time. Most of the declines in GXY shares are down to these two simple facts.
Shorters have been lucky I think. This lithium game is unpredictable and it I think it could easily change at any time. I am betting that this will market will change in the medium term. I just withdrew some super to put more skin into GXY. GXY cash on hand is great and even if it gets spent, it's nearly covering market cap before any of GXY's mines are factored into the equation. Good deal.
My other thought is that cities and people have a greater perspective of what is important in life now that we've all had some time to reset, take time and ponder. We will take this opportunity to change the way they live...

...and that batteries are going to be a big part of this change IMO. As long as lithium stays as one of the components of batteries then GXY is still one of the best bets on the ASX for exposure to battery market. GXY showed some poor judgement in terms of A40 etc., but they have also been prudent by not overextending themselves like so many others, including A40; Nemaska also comes to mind and you have to wonder about how PLS and others will fair with their debt burdens. More PRC board members perhaps?!
GXY just need to hang on until the market picks up and pay cuts for the people at the top is a good sign that they want GXY to come out the other side. Would be quite easy it seems to bleed GXY dry with ridiculous salaries so that this is going in the opposite direction is reassuring.
I don't mind taking a few more of these cheap shares...nearly backed by cash in the short-term and reducing my average which is will then be under $2....getting there! Glad I've been buying lots of little amounts over years.
