I think he / she has a mild grasp - but not the full grasp.
If they did understand the purpose of the NPV figure, they wouldn't have posted time and time again seeking others to clarify their calculations on a stock they don't own.
There are plenty of examples of better Net Present Values, there are also plenty of examples of lower NPVs in financially viable projects.
The NPV is positive, if they can tweak the business model to bring costs down and profits up - that's great.... but it's still fine as it is at the moment.
