Sadly that is the way of the modern world, currently if you want something made in numbers at the lowest price you go to China which is the only Tesla factory building RHD M3 and MY at present as well. The main difference is that the profits from Giga Shanghai flow back to the USA but Volvo and MG are completely Chinese owned so their profits stay in China unless some westerners own shares in Geely (Volvo) or SAIC (MG) like Warren Buffet does in BYD. The other thing to remember is that the Teslas made around the world are nearly identical so if China starts something ugly the Shanghai production can be shifted to other factories.
