    I agree with most of what you wrote re AVL.

    The only explanation I have re deep discount at which AVL is selling is that Australian investors are much more
    averse to investing in Africa than Europeans or Canadians.Therefore we have a syndrom of many an Australian company seeking listing in London,New York or Toronto,where they are better appreciated and sovereign risks better understood.

    I put it down to (tongue in cheek) general ignorance of many investors and plain stupid philosophies of our fund managers,who buy only if some other fundie bought already previously,they are good at following,certainly not the trail blazers.

    As always,the extent of sovereign risk is in the eyes of the beholder,but the better one is informed on situation at the coal face,the less one fears the unknown.
