Hahaha that report from the 10 foot kid reads like a high school economics and finance assignment. $600....... really Regardless, good on him for doing the work as it is really the best way to learn. He has a far way to go though!

Anyway, I found the comment made in the reply to this kid's article much more interesting and IMHO also closer to the mark. Here is a copy and paste:

Mate I’m a sand miner for one of the big boys and I follow all the sand operations around the world closely. There are a couple of areas that aren’t quite right and areas that you may have missed.
Sulphate Ilmenite – mate the boom in 2012 was on the back of the Chinese building boom and in particular iron ore. Sulphate ilmenite is a byproduct from the Chinese iron ore mines. When iron price was booming, so was sulphate Production.
"Now when iron ore fell over to $50 odd, the iron ore mines shut and thus all the ilmenite stopped. Pricing then moved back up.
What’s happened now is that China want high grade iron ore because of the environmental issues with low grade, so their ilmenite had never come back online and more than likely won’t because it’s actually very low grade TiO2 at 40% and the amount of electricity and sulphuric acid needed is incredible.
Chloride is high grade, but the issue with that is there isn’t any high grade deposits being found in the world.
Now Bases Toliara is 1/3 chloride grade and the other 2/3 sulphate, but very high grade sulphate. They will have zero issue selling it.
You mentioned pricing falling over come 2021. Mate, that won’t happen, there isn’t a new mine coming online anywhere and the likes of Rio, Tronox and Iluka do not sell sulphate ilmenite at all. They use their sulphate and upgrade.
    Bases debt
Mate that will be paid by Nov this year, they’ve said by the end of the year by the way.
As for calling Base an ilmenite miner. Well they are not really, they are a Rutile miner with a huge ilmenite byproduct and thrash out 40,000t of premium zircon.
This quarterly will be enormous for those guys."

Watching the SP action and associated volumes over the past few months suggests to me that some accumulators are in control of the price and will not release the brakes until they are fully fueled up.

Finally, I too look forward to the next qtr report and agree with our reply commentator above when he suggests it "will be enormous for those guys".

    Cheers
