dave, the forecaster I referred to provides forecasts for SE Australia, mainly Victoria, hence his focus on the Indian Ocean. However weather in all regions is interlinked with different systems in adjoining regions forcing or influencing the movements of adjoinging systems to a greater or less degree. A wetter than normal year down south is basically what he is expecting, possibly extending to most of Australia, but not neccessarily so. He had forecast the break to be here by now, but the timing is always more difficult to predict than the trend.
