I can't think of many non-secured loans. Normally if you loan money and it is not repaid, you reserve the right to take possession of the debtors assets. Nothing unusual about the loan. No need to look for imaginary devils in the detail to justify your decision not to but in at lows over the last few weeks. Some people will always be a day late and a dollar short.
