I suspect management might be paying a lower rate for the assays as a deprioritized customer, to paraphrase Graham McGarry:

"We will use ALS for the assays, but they will be delayed due to the heavy volume. We aren't in any rush for our assays, we are happy to wait".

I read that as, we have an agreement with ALS that as a low-cost producer that isn't on a life support machine between assays results as some explorers are, we are happy to pay a slightly lower rate for our assays and wait a bit longer. Just another possible way that management can drive down costs. Leave no stone unturned.
