From what I have read they built the plant so that if needed they could upgrade if needed in the future to double production.
Of course that would come at a cost, not sure what that would be. But if they hit some large deposits then why wouldn't they consider the expansion so they can make money while the price of gold is looking good.
Right now is not the time the expand given the LOM. But if they tripled their resource then that may trigger the expansion
