LAST year CSL outperformed the market by 32 per cent but since May 1 it has underperformed by 21 per cent.
Brian MacNamee has run into plenty of disturbances, like class actions against him in the US and increases in plasma supply in the US. And after the US Justice Department blew the whistle on his Talecris acquisition in the US, CSL seems to have run short of easy growth options. It is not as bad as the market implies, but MacNamee finds himself in the market sin bin for a while.
