You dont have to guess the current value of the SNE field.
In their August 2017 presentation Cairn Energy declared a 2C recoverable resource of 563 mmbbls @ p16, they also declared a NPV of $US10 per barrel @ $US70 per barrel Brent @ FID @ p11. Woodside have advised that FID is expected 2Q 2019.
So at 2Q19 the value of SNE to FAR is $US10 x 563,000,000 x 0.137 = $US771 million and divided by 5.462 B shares on issue is Aus 18.8 cents @ 0.75 Aus/US.
Cairn have calculated the NPV based upon their estimate of the oil flow rates in the development plan and the capital expenditure profile in the development plan. The NPV takes account of financing of the future capital expenditures and future revenue flows through the discount rate, plus applies a risk factor to account for uncertainties.
