Uranium Bounce Seen From Seven-Year Low on Japan: Energy Markets
By Ben Sharples - Jun 11, 2013 7:49 PM
Uranium is set to rebound from its worst slump in seven years as Japan, once the world’s third-biggest nuclear-power producer, starts reactors after safety requirements are put into effect next month.
The atomic fuel may average $48 a pound in the third quarter after sliding to $39.75 last week, the lowest since at least March 2006, according to the median forecast from banks including Bank of America Corp. and Toronto-Dominion Bank.
Japan may resume operations at five plants this year, according to the estimates of 13 analysts and producers compiled by Bloomberg.
